Hotep (Peace)!

I thank you for taking the time to visit the “Village of the Blue Nile ” even if it is in cyberspace (smile). I look forward to hearing from you, meeting you and working with you as we continue the work of supporting, nurturing and loving our youth who are our “jewels” our future leaders and our precious seeds.

Most of our youth know much about Dr. Dre yet nothing about Dr. Dubois…this is a travesty. Too many of our youth spend hours upon hours looking at TV and listening to the radio yet spend very little time reading…this is a tragedy. The African American community, in my opinion, is hemorrhaging from a lack of morality, a lack of values, a lack of love, a lack of purpose and a lack of reverence for the Creator. Our children are under siege by drugs, sex, violence, gangsterism, materialism, racism, political thuggism, prison industrialism and lack of knowledge of their past, their potential and their future. The problems facing our people, our communities and our country are numerous, yet WE have to power to change them. Dr. King once said, “ Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?”. He also stated, “ Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter”.

The members of The Blue Nile have pledged to be a part of the solution, not part of the problem. For 10 years we have sacrificed our time and money to train, support and nurture the next generation of youth. We believe in the African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child”. We have worked diligently to build this village and to walk in the light of this concept.

We would welcome your support in this effort. Please take time to carefully surf through the various sections of this site. We are always looking for volunteers of good character. We also look forward to supporting your efforts if possible and even discussing the possibility of chaptering the program in your area. I look forward to hearing your comments, addressing your questions and getting your feedback. Please feel free to email me at Cliff@bluenilepassage.org or call 212-561-1449 ext 1.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and all the Elders (male and female volunteers) I welcome you, again, to the site and encourage you to contact us. If possible, give us a call and/or plan a visit…we would love to meet and greet you.

In the spirit of Umoja,

I Divinely Respect You!

“Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve”…MLK Jr.
