Ernest Myrick is the President of Elm Communication LLC; where he oversees the day to day operations of this telecommunications company. Elm Communication does subcontract work for several Avaya Platinum Business partners in the tri-state area and has done so for the past 3 ˝ years since 2005. The company installs, manages and maintains Avaya voice systems as well as the installation of all associated adjuncts and cabling.
Prior to forming Elm Communication in 2005, Ernest was a Technical Project Manager for Strategic Products & Services an Avaya Platinum Business partner in Cedar Knolls NJ, where he managed the installation of the Avaya Magix, Legend, and Partner ACS product lines at locations from Connecticut to Florida.
Previously, Ernest held several positions at Avaya/Lucent Technologies; he was a Project Manager for 3 years, worked as a Product Engineer on the National Technical Support Hotline supporting Phone Centers nationwide. Ernest managed (1) AT&T Phone Center Store in the Wall Street area of lower Manhattan and (1) Phone Center on the Upper East Side of Manhattan ; Responsibilities included recruiting, hiring, training and developing Sales Associates for the phone center store. Ernest managed a staff of between 5 to 10 associates, with the responsibility of increasing store revenues from 5% to 25% annually. (Generally between $300K and $600K yearly)
Ernest is active in the community as he has been a member of the Inner City Broadcasts “WBLS Sure Shot” Organization since 1983 a community based organization which helps other organization raise funds through sporting and educational events – through mentoring and workshops the Sure Shots have helped raise over 5 million dollars. In addition Ernest is also a member of the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Flyers Organization, which through sports and education has been responsible for sending approx 500 youth to college on scholarship since 1976.
Ernest is a member of the Abyssinian Baptist Church and has been since mid 2006, he is a member of the Progressive Men’s Ushers Ministry, and is a mentor as part of the Abyssinian church’s Blue Nile Rites of Passage leadership program.
Ernest earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin – Superior in 1981.
